I am not really one to comment on the happenings of the world but recently our world seems to be taking a bit of a battering from people that want to disturb peace and goodness. With everything that has gone on i thought that a slogan as simple as this one on one of my favourite t-shirts was very fitting after the events. It is a reminder to fight for not only others but ourselves as well.

Take a moment a stand up for the one you love, your family, your friends, strangers in the street and not forgetting to stand up for yourself.

Happy Friday everyone!

I hope you have had a lovely week and the weather has been as good to you as it has to me.

This week i choose to focus my look on the alternative night out look. If you are anything like me and are more likely to be caught in a pub or casual bar rather than a really fancy one or a club then i may have a little bit of advice when it comes to what to wear when one of these nights does arise.

I have to confess. I go into panic mode when i am due to go on one of these nights out. Long gone are the days when they were a weekly occurrence and my wardrobe used to be full of "out out" clothes. No longer do we see body-con dresses and massive heels on the streets at night. Now it is filled with high waisted  trousers and cami tops.

My top tip is to buy an item that is versatile and learn different looks that you can build around it. I brought this jumpsuit from Newlook at the start of the year and have found it has become  my go to piece for a night out. I can turn it into any type of look i want to just by switching accessories and layering.

The outfit i am wearing in the photos was inspired by a hen party i recently went to. It was a more casual one so i wore jeans and a nice top but it got me thinking about what i would have worn if it had been more of an evening event. I would want to look nice but not too over dressed. The jumpsuit is perfect for this type of scenario. Hear i have layered it with a light weight blush glittery jumper from Whistles, chunky heeled silver shoes from Asos and a textured patent bag by Miss KG. For a more casual look i would style it with a plain white t-shirt underneath, pair of converses and a bucket bag. But if you really wanted to go for it then i would just wear the jumpsuit by itself, a pair of pointed heels and a bold lip.

Have a magical weekend and i will be back soon with another outfit post!

MY WEEK 14TH - 21ST MAY 2017

Happy weekend everyone!

Whether you have spent the last couple of days letting your hair down or relaxing at home, I hope it has been a good one.

One of the biggest things to happen this week was the launch of Tom's new copper design Instagram and Etsy store, Crofts Copper. So far we have only listed a few items such as the medium candle holder and the small jewellery stand but soon there will be lots of new exciting products. If you have an interest in unique home decor then I would recommend giving it a look.

On Wednesday I started going to my areal hoop class again after a month off. It is such a fun form of exercise but jesus christ is it hard work! I definitely need to work on my core strength if I am going to progress. Soon I would like to post some photos but I am working on getting one where my face doesn't look like i am in a lot of pain.

The best part of my week has been the past couple of days. I only get every other weekend to spend with Tom and this weekend we really made the most of it. We went back to Brighton yesterday for a little bit of a shopping trip and it was so nice to have a wonder around. The last time we visited the city was in February and it was really foggy but yesterday was beautiful and sunny so we really made the most of being outside. The next time we visit we would like to spend the whole weekend and stay overnight so that we can go out to some of our favourite bars that we used to go to.

Finally today has been a chilling day. The weather was nice again so we rode Toms scooter to a place called Bradgate Park near where we live and walked around eating ice cream with a flake.
Getting home i made a roast dinner and we have started to re-watch episodes of Robin Hood. Ahh what a lovely weekend we have had.

I usually like to keep my Friday posts focused on the outfit that I am wearing and when I was taking the photographs for this post I already had in mind what I wanted to say about the outfit. However due to some recent occurrences I would like to talk about something else.

Keeping motivated. Something I find very hard to do within the world of blogging and social media.
I always find that I will get into a good groove with blogging and being happy with my content and be on a good run posting regulary for a few weeks, then all of a sudden without any rhyme or reason my followers will go down slightly and the number of likes I get on Instagram will falter.

Do not get me wrong, the main reason I blog and post on Instagram is because I love doing it. I love the whole process of taking the photographs, editing, writing and interacting with other people. At the end of the day if no one was to read my blog or look at my social media then I would still carry on because it is a great creative outlet for me. It is more that I am curious as to why followers and likes are so infrequent. Is it because my content is inconsistent with its quality or is it more complex than that? Are people only following me in the hope of getting a follow back and if i do not obliged within a certain amount of time will rid me from their feed?

It is hard to tell what is really going on and to not loose motivation. To keep on putting effort into developing your online presence and to get little back can affect confidence levels in a big way. This week i have doubted my ability as a stylist, a writer, my looks and body. I have even thought about how likeable i come across on social media and blogging.

At the end of the day blogging is an expression of yourself and if you are trying to be anything other than that then how can you be truly likeable if it is not really you? I was having a conversation with a friend the other day and I was saying that even though I am a trained stylist, more days often than not I am really stuck as to what to wear, or I will look at a piece of clothing and not have a clue what to put with it. I worried that that was coming across in my blog and my Instagram, but then i thought, so what if it is? The whole process of finding the right outfit is experimenting with other pieces.

When I get dressed, I start with an item I want to wear that day and spend time finding what works best with it.

I did exactly that with the outfit in this post. I started off with the suede pleated skirt. Knew it would look nice with the long sleeved striped t-shirt, then threw my leather jacket over it and finally decided that a pair of leopard prints boots would complete the look. I am actually on the look out for a new leather jacket. One that is slightly shorter in the body and would work well with high waisted items. Obvious preference is black but i am open to other colours as well.

I hope this post hasn't seemed like one big moan. I adore blogging and being part of this online community. It is my main source of inspiration in many aspects of my life. My biggest motivation for blogging is seeing the great content that others are putting out there. It is what drives me as a stylist and secures my faith in the fact that so many people are still passionate about fashion. My top five bloggers/inspirational ladies i would recommend at the moment are: Megen Ellaby, Lizzy Hadfield, Alice Catherine, Brittany Bathgate and Harriet Stewart

Happy Friday everyone! Welcome to this weeks outfit post.

As you can tell from the title, this is an outfit i put together that is inspired from the 1960's as something to wear in the evening. To be honest though most of my inspiration comes from the 1960's so you will probably be able to spot that in most of my outfit posts.

The core of this outfit would be the A line skirt. I got this one from Zara last year or possibly a couple of years ago. However they are still doing very similar versions and when i went into the store a couple of weeks ago saw that they now do it in so many different colours. I went for this lovely nude pink and love the fact it is leather look. I have worn this skirt many times in the day as well. Just pair it with a stripy top and a pair of flats or converse and you are good to go!

The blouse i got is from warehouse and i think i brought it around early February. I usually stay away from really on trend pieces but loved the pussy bow detail and the speckled print. My only complaints of this top would be that when i put my arms back it can gape a bit at the front and that the flared sleeves can get in the way but apart from that i really like it. If you want less of a statement outfit then i have previously worn this top with high waisted black jeans and heeled boots. Perfect outfit for a meal out or meeting friends for drinks.

I have to say i don't really do a fish net tights. The last time i wore these was at halloween when me and my boyfriend went as Sid and Nancy. I do think they work quite well with this outfit though but if you prefer without then just go for a bare leg or a dark pair of tights with black boots.

If you are looking to add a statement boot to your collection then i would highly recommend a silver boot... or a leopard print. I could never choose between the two but these silver boots from office work perfectly with this outfit. They are also so comfy that i can wear them all day and not be complaining that my feet hurt after a few hours.
