THE RELAUNCH

Hello and a very late "Happy New Year"!

Today is the first post of my blog's relaunch. In the past i have dabbled in photographs of my own outfits and thrown in the odd playlist. This year i am looking to make my blog a little bit more professional and more focused on fashion. This will feature better quality photographs of my own personal style and also photographs of other people i have styled and look books i have created using models (one of which is my sister who you will see fairly often). All photographs featured on this blog will have been taken by myself, unless i am in the photographs in which the photographer will be credited. I'd like to make my blog more of a platform for who i am professionally and really focus on my styling. Of course the occasional playlist will be featured, I could never scrap that!

My next post will be a look book that i have created around over sized work wear. It features two outfits focused around a pair of polka dot navy wide legged trousers. Both looks are similar but offer alternative vibes. On my blog i plan on keeping my look books short to two or three outfits per post, so that they don't become too much of a lengthy read.

Keep your eyes peeled on the blog this week and my Instagram alexandrahardystyling for that look book. You can also keep up with style inspiration on my instagram as i post a new photo everyday.

Much love

14.10.17 PLAYLIST

HELLO

I was looking through my posts recently and realised it has been a little while since i posted a playlist. I put up a poll on my instagram stories asking whether you guys would like to hear a playlist that is a themed genre or one that consists of what i have been recently listening to. The votes came in and the later came out trumps.

To start with i am obsessed with Miley Cyrus's new song Younger Now. I never used to be into her music but recently feel her music vibe is going in a better direction. I'm enjoying having a couple of her songs as my guilty pleasures.

Two albums that have been released recently that were winners in my book are Visions of a Life by Wolf Alice and V by The Horrors. I have featured a few of my favourite tracks from each album in the playlist.

Enjoy the playlist and feel free to comment what you would like to hear in the future!

STAND UP FOR LOVE

STAND UP FOR LOVE

I am not really one to comment on the happenings of the world but recently our world seems to be taking a bit of a battering from people that want to disturb peace and goodness. With everything that has gone on i thought that a slogan as simple as this one on one of my favourite t-shirts was very fitting after the events. It is a reminder to fight for not only others but ourselves as well.

Take a moment a stand up for the one you love, your family, your friends, strangers in the street and not forgetting to stand up for yourself.

THE ALTERNATIVE NIGHT OUT LOOK

Happy Friday everyone!

I hope you have had a lovely week and the weather has been as good to you as it has to me.

This week i choose to focus my look on the alternative night out look. If you are anything like me and are more likely to be caught in a pub or casual bar rather than a really fancy one or a club then i may have a little bit of advice when it comes to what to wear when one of these nights does arise.

I have to confess. I go into panic mode when i am due to go on one of these nights out. Long gone are the days when they were a weekly occurrence and my wardrobe used to be full of "out out" clothes. No longer do we see body-con dresses and massive heels on the streets at night. Now it is filled with high waisted  trousers and cami tops.

My top tip is to buy an item that is versatile and learn different looks that you can build around it. I brought this jumpsuit from Newlook at the start of the year and have found it has become  my go to piece for a night out. I can turn it into any type of look i want to just by switching accessories and layering.

The outfit i am wearing in the photos was inspired by a hen party i recently went to. It was a more casual one so i wore jeans and a nice top but it got me thinking about what i would have worn if it had been more of an evening event. I would want to look nice but not too over dressed. The jumpsuit is perfect for this type of scenario. Hear i have layered it with a light weight blush glittery jumper from Whistles, chunky heeled silver shoes from Asos and a textured patent bag by Miss KG. For a more casual look i would style it with a plain white t-shirt underneath, pair of converses and a bucket bag. But if you really wanted to go for it then i would just wear the jumpsuit by itself, a pair of pointed heels and a bold lip.

Have a magical weekend and i will be back soon with another outfit post!
